Unhealthy snacks can be delicious in the moment, but if you want to make sure you and your family feel great during the trip (and not just for the drive there) here are a few healthy options to bring with you.
Popcorn - Lightly buttered and caramel corn (if you want to sneak in some sugar) is great for a movie night or for a light snack.
Jerky - Beef and turkey are good ways to get some protein and fight hunger in between meals.
Fresh Fruit - Grapes, blueberries, strawberries & bananas are easy to pack and enjoy on the road. Fruit cups, applesauce and dried fruit are great options as well!
Veggies - Carrots, celery, sliced cucumber, salad bag mix
String Cheese - Handy, on-the-go snack and a good source of protein.
Hummus - Tastes great on just about everything. Bring some pita chips, bread or add to your veggies.
Yogurt - Great way to keep your gut healthy and stomach feeling good.
Nuts - Pistachios, walnuts, cashews, almonds and more!
Baked Chickpeas - Season with salt and bake for 30-40 minutes at 450F for a tasty and easy to make snack.
Trail Mix - Your kids may not be a fan of the raisins, but there's tons of other goodies that come in a bag of trail mix that are delicious.
Sunflower Seeds - Get them shelled so you don't have to worry about a mess.
Fixings for S'mores! - Marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate are a must for a snack by the campfire.
Waters - It's important to stay hydrated, so make sure you bring water jugs and bottles and keep them filled.
Cereal - Start your morning off with a tasty breakfast, or put the cereal in a baggy to enjoy on the go.
Drinks for the Grownups - Bring your favorite beers, wine and fixings for a tasty cocktail at your campsite.
